Meadow School -
Meadow school uses the outdoor environment to help all children learn. Children are encouraged to develop independence skills, improve their decision-making and raise their self-esteem through small achievable tasks. Sessions are based on Forest School style activities which are child led to accommodate individual learning styles and schemas, children are encouraged to make choices and follow their own learning. The adults’ role is facilitative and enables observation and assessment of the children. Teachers and practitioners involved with the children who participate in our Meadow school activities report significant improvements in independence, self-esteem, social skills and concentration levels. Our outdoor learning takes place off site in Foots Cray Meadows. Sessions last approximately two hours and take place whatever the weather! The only exceptions are during thunder and lightning or high winds.
Children are given opportunities at Meadow School to engage in activities such as:
Hot chocolate and biscuit time!
And many more…
