If your child is starting secondary school in September 2026, please ensure that carefully read the information about how to apply for a secondary school place and the selection test process which you can enter your child into.
Bexley recommends that parents consider a mixture of selective and non-selective preferences, thus covering all bases. Although Bexley has agreed a small window amongst London Boroughs where a change of preference request can be submitted in early December, should the test result be likely to have a significant impact on the outcome of the application.
For pupils awaiting the outcome of a special arrangements request, the process for considering cases by panel has been elongated by the inability to bring the panel members together as we normally would and therefore collating different panel opinions without discussion has made the process considerably longer.
