Consultation on our Admissions Policy

We are currently consulting on our Admissions Policy

Our current Admissions Policy gives some priority to families who are active membership of Christian churches in the local area if the school is oversubscribed and applications under other priorities have been allocated. These faith based places are currently defined as formal members of a Church that is part of the Churches Together in Sidcup group. We are proposing to redefine this as ‘children whose parents/carers are regular attenders of a Churches Together in England and/or Evangelical Alliance Church.’ We are proposing this change in response to feedback from families who live close to the school and want to apply to the school but attend churches outside of the Sidcup area. We have also redefined the priority given to the admission of pupils with an Education, Health and Care plan or statement of special educational needs and changed the presentation of the policy for clarity and consistency.

A full copy of the proposed admissions policy, detailing the over-subscription criteria, can be viewed below.

Consultation Process:

Comments on the change to the admissions policy are invited from all interested parties, including the local authority, schools, parents, councillors, residents and community groups. Responses should be received by 31st January 2016 and should be submitted by email to: enquiries@hopecommunityschool.org

Thank you for taking the time to take part in this consultation.
